Whipkey's Weekly Update ~ 9/20-9/24/10
Hi Everyone! We had ANOTHER fantastic week together! Please be sure to call or email me to set up a time to discuss concerns or issues. I am generally working before and after school to get ready and caught up for the next day, week, month, etc., so having a heads up that you need to talk is helpful. Of course dropping in now and then is fine, but I'd prefer to know when to expect you. Thanks!
Upcoming/On-going Events
- 10/1/10 - Camp Packets came home 9/13- please sign and return with payment by October 1st!
- 10/6~10/8 - Fifth Grade Camp!!!
- Whipkey's Math: Comparing & Ordering Decimal Numbers, Decimal Place Value, Fractions and Facts Practice
- Reading: Hatchet (Chapters 3-5)
- Media Integration: Country of Comparison project! Students will research a country of their choice and compare it with the U.S.A.!!
- Language Arts: Six Traits Writing Skill of the Week is "Ideas." Students will focus on idea generation, simplification and broadening. Students will also work on journaling, grammar, and spelling activities in class.
- Science: Microworlds - Investigations using microscopes!
- Social Studies: History Alive! Chapter 1 - Geography/Maps
