Upcoming/On-going Events

• 9/13 - 8:30 STUCO Officer Candidate Speeches in the Aud. (Winners announced at the end of the day!)
• 9/13 - Camp Packets coming home - please sign and return with payment by October 1st!
• 9/17 - Homecoming Parade!
• 10/6~10/8 - Fifth Grade Camp!!!
  

Learning Goals

• Whipkey's Math: Comparing & Ordering Numbers, Place Value, Rounding, and Facts Practice
• Reading: Groups start! Hatchet (Chapters 1-3)
• Media Integration: Country of Comparison project begins! Students will research a country of their choice and compare it with the U.S.A.!!
• Language Arts: Six Traits Writing Skill of the Week is "Ideas." Students will focus on idea generation, simplification and broadening. Students will also work on journaling, grammar, and spelling activities in class.
• Science: Science Homework begins Monday!! We will start our first science kit - Microworlds with an observation and sketching lesson with Ms. McCracken.
• Social Studies: History Alive! Chapter 1 - Geography/Maps
