WHIPKEY'S WEEKLY UPDATE ~ 10/25-10/27/10

Upcoming/Ongoing Events:

10/22 - No school for students; work day for teachers
10/27 - Halloween Parade @2:15 & Party @2:45
10/28 & 29 - Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences
11/22-11/26/10 - Fall Break

Learning Goals:

• Whipkey's Math: Gathering Data, Charts, Graphs, and Facts Practice
• Reading: Hatchet (Chapters 11-16)
  
• Media Integration: Country of Comparison project! Students will research a country of their choice and compare it with the U.S.A.!!
• Language Arts: Six Traits Writing Skill of the Week is "Voice." Students will practice writing narratives(stories). We will also work on journaling, grammar, and spelling activities in class.
• Science: Chapter 2 & Landforms science kit activities to begin soon!
  
• Social Studies: History Alive! Chapter 2 - Native Americans
